Direct Cranking Start of a PC350 Diesel Excavator Without a Battery
This video shows a direct engine cranking test performed on a large Japanese PC350 heavy-duty diesel excavator.
The jump starter was connected directly to the starter motor positive and negative terminals, without connecting to the vehicle’s battery.
Since no onboard battery was involved, the device could not automatically recognize or switch operating modes, and therefore was set to Manual Start Mode.
Under this configuration, the system successfully started the excavator engine, demonstrating its capability for direct cranking of high-power diesel equipment in extreme conditions.
